Prof. Florin Girbacia received his BS and MS degrees in Technological Engineering from the Transilvania University Brasov, Romania, in 2003, and his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Transilvania University Brasov, Romania in 2008. Currently, he is a professor of Computer-Aided Design, Virtual Reality, Applied Informatics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Transilvania University Brasov. He has been a member of the Virtual Reality and Robotics research center of the Transilvania University Brasov since 2004. In 2012 he was granted a Best Paper Award at ACHI2012 conference. He has published articles in 8 international journals as well as 7 books and more than 40 WoS conference papers. He was director of 2 projects and has participated in 18 national and international projects. Currently is the reviewer of many international journals and conference proceedings: IJAMT, JCAD, IEEE Access, ROCHI, and so on. His main research interests are VR/AR technologies for automotive and industrial applications, autonomous vehicles simulators, ADAS systems, human–computer interaction, haptics, robotics, and blockchain. He is a member of SIAR (Society of Automotive Engineers of Romania).
